German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to influence the Russian side to end the conflict in Ukraine.
The corresponding request, as the chancellor wrote on his page on social network X, he voiced during his visit to China.
“China’s word carries weight in Russia. That is why I asked President Xi to influence Russia,” Scholz wrote.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock in an interview with the American TV channel Fox News called Chinese President Xi Jinping a dictator.
