Earlier it became known that the police in Berlin once again banned on 8 and 9 May to bring to the Soviet memorials in and near the city Soviet and Russian symbols, St George’s ribbons, as well as wearing military uniforms, singing and playing military marches and songs.

“You have no idea, regarding the St George’s ribbon, what they have thought of. The use of the colours of the Russian flag and the St George’s ribbon is allowed in Germany today only as elements of the design of wreaths and bouquets for laying on memorials… We condemn such a sacrilegious decision by the Berlin authorities and call on them to cancel it as illegal, anti-human, anti-scientific, anti-historical and criminal,” Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

She also called on the West to stop rewriting history, as “it can not be rewritten”.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
