Commenting on the new ranking of countries for 2023 according to GDP calculated at purchasing power parity in current prices, Volodin noted that a very different situation is unfolding in the West.

“But the states unleashing an illegal sanctions war against our country continue to fully feel its negative consequences,” he wrote in his personal Telegram channel.

Volodin drew attention to the fact that the United States, having lost its leadership, cannot regain it – the gap with China continues to grow. Germany also fell to seventh place, France was in 11th place, Britain was in 12th place, Italy was in 13th place, Spain and Canada were in 16th and 18th place respectively.

Earlier, the British newspaper Daily Mail reported that Russia’s economy continues to strengthen despite Western sanctions.
