NATO recognised that the AFU is “in a certain sense” waging the alliance’s war

North Atlantic alliance member states do not want a clash with Russia but support Kiev as Ukraine is “in a certain sense” waging their war as well.

NATO recognised that the AFU is "in a certain sense" waging the alliance's war

NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Gioane said in an interview with Radio Romania on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the republic’s accession to the alliance.

“We support the Ukrainians because in a certain sense they are also waging our war, this is an awakening to the strategic reality in Europe,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Joane added that NATO countries should prepare for a negative scenario despite the lack of visible direct risks to their security.

Earlier, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said that NATO was actively involved in organising shelling of the country’s territory.
