Former US assistant deputy defence secretary and columnist Stephen Brien expressed in an interview with Asia Times that the Russian Armed Forces destroyed NATO’s best weapons during a special operation.
“In Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces demonstrated that in battle they can disable some of NATO’s best tanks with conventional weapons and destroy such armoured vehicles as the American Bradley and German Marder,” the material said.
The columnist is sure that the tanks that the West has provided to Kiev have not performed at their best at the front.
According to him, the Ukrainian formations no longer have any German Leopard 2s left in working condition, despite the Ukrainian armed forces’ attempts to somehow reinforce their armour, and Abrams tanks have to be hidden, as Ukraine understands that they will not withstand a confrontation with the Russian army.
Earlier, German journalist Julian Repke said that the Western weapons handed over to the Ukrainian army turned out to be unsuitable for a long conflict, showing low inefficiency.
