Peskov: Russia 'does not wear rose-coloured glasses' regarding continuation of Western sanctions

According to him, the Russian authorities expect the continuation of “sanctions exercises” by Western states and understand what areas may fall under the new restrictions.

“No one here we have wearing rose-coloured glasses, and we understand that sanctions exercises will continue. We understand the areas that our opponents will try to hit, to put it mildly,” he said.

The Kremlin spokesman noted that the West stops at nothing in wanting to expand the sanctions package.

“It is obvious that, gritting their teeth, they are even ready to test the negative effect on themselves,” he emphasised.

Earlier, Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström said that the EU intends to include a ban on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies in the 14th package of sanctions against Russia.
