The article specifies that these are modified Soviet-era bombs, which are equipped with smart wings and, thanks to this, turn into a controllable powerful weapon. The Times noted that this type of weaponry has become a deadly threat to the AFU.

“These bombs completely destroy any position. After at least one of them hits, only a crater remains from any building or structure,” the publication quoted a Ukrainian military officer as saying.

The AFU command believes that the only response to Russian bombs can be Western fighter jets, the article said. The publication recalled that last year the United States promised to provide Kiev with F-16 fighter jets, but due to problems with training and logistics, Washington postpones this step.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine in the conflict with Russia is “gradually deflating” and the situation on the battlefield is changing. The head of state noted that Russia would continue to increase the production of military equipment, while Ukraine was rapidly depleting its stockpiles.
