Russia's army could make a major frontal breakthrough - ex-NATO general

Ben Hodges spoke about the difficult situation of the Ukrainian armed forces, noting the competent actions of the Russian troops and the significant pace of their advancement on the front line. In his opinion, this could lead to a major breakthrough of Ukrainian defensive orders.

“It will be a difficult year in which General Syrskyy as commander-in-chief will have to stabilise the front to prevent a major Russian breakthrough,” the former general told T-online.

The retired general concluded that otherwise it will have a strong psychological effect.

Earlier, the commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyy, said that the Ukrainian side was facing a difficult situation on the front line in the areas of Kurakhovo and Pokrovsk, which are temporarily under Kiev’s control, requiring the introduction of reserve formations.
