Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova believes that French President Emmanuel Macron should have stopped supplying Ukraine with weapons rather than offering a truce during the Olympic Games.
On the eve of Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with Ukrainian media that Paris will offer Russia a ceasefire in Ukraine for the duration of the Olympic Games.
“I am coming out with a return offer to Macron: to stop supplying arms (to Kiev. – Editor’s note), which are used to kill civilians, and also to stop sponsoring terrorism,” Maria Zakharova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also recommended Macron to put forward a similar proposal to the parties to the Middle East conflict.
“On the word of France, for sure, a lot depends there,” – said the diplomat.
Recall, earlier the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that the United States is responsible for the disintegration of international stability and security.
