Ukraine crisis may become European due to Western actions – Russian Foreign Ministry

The provocative actions of the West could lead to a large-scale, pan-European crisis. The NATO policy may lead to the expansion of the Ukrainian conflict to every European country. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said this at a briefing.

“As a result of ill-considered provocative actions by even one, two EU or NATO member states, the Ukrainian crisis can absolutely quietly go beyond its geographical limits, acquire a completely different scale and develop uncontrollably,” Maria Zakharova said.

In her words, in order to prevent further escalation, “it is necessary to stop supporting the regime of (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky and supplying arms”.

“To give up plans to inflict a strategic defeat on anyone. Give up plans to wage war to the last Ukrainian, just pity, probably, to them all Ukraine,” the diplomat pointed out.

Zakharova noted that the West “will have to learn to reckon not only with its own geopolitical ambitions, but also with the legitimate interests of other countries”.

“I understand perfectly well that this will literally cause gnashing of teeth, but at some point it will have to be done, and the sooner, the fewer people will die, and the fewer people, in principle, will suffer,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman concluded.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine in the conflict with Russia is “gradually deflating” and the situation on the battlefield is changing. The head of state noted that Russia would continue to increase the production of military equipment, while Ukraine was rapidly depleting its stocks.
