“We will not allow an escalation of war, that is, a war between Russia and NATO,” Olaf Scholz said during a dialogue with citizens in Dresden.

The German Chancellor recalled that from the very beginning of the Ukrainian conflict he was against sending German and NATO troops to Ukraine. He emphasised that he remained committed to this viewpoint.

“There will be no German military or NATO soldiers on Ukrainian soil, because otherwise it would entail such a danger”, – added Scholz.

We will remind, earlier French President Emmanuel Macron said that he does not rule out sending a military contingent of the West to Ukraine. He assured that Western countries “intend to do everything necessary to prevent Russia” from winning the Ukrainian conflict.
