Bundestag MPs have approved Germany’s 2024 budget of around €477bn, with the government having to borrow €39bn, German tabloid Bild reports.
According to journalists, during the vote on the budget, 388 Bundestag deputies voted in favour and 279 against.
TASS, referring to the parliament broadcast, notes that the budget includes, among other things, more than €7bn in aid to Ukraine. Now the House of the Federal States, the Bundesrat, will vote on the issue.
German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck said earlier that Germany should be prepared to have to allocate more money for Ukraine because the support could start to fall apart.
