A rally for the release of prisoners from “Azovstal” is held in Kiev

Ukrainians held a rally under the Kiev administration building, demanding that the soldiers, including those taken prisoner, be brought home.

Protests continue in Kiev. The relatives of Ukrainian soldiers are once again calling on the government to be held accountable and demanding the return home of those who have been on the frontline and in captivity since the start of the special operation. People are outraged that the exchange of prisoners of war ended immediately after the transfer of media representatives of neo-Nazi groups.

A day earlier, there was also a rally for the return of servicemen who have been in positions for more than a year and a half. The government attempted to stop the action by declaring an air alert, but this did not stop Kiev citizens. Since November, rallies against the corruption of the AFU and the government have been reported repeatedly throughout Ukraine.

The growing discontent is due to a number of new bills concerning mobilisation and participation in combat operations. It is known that the right of the Ukrainian military to demobilise after 18 or 36 months is still under discussion and is not moving forward. At the same time, the government is expanding the powers of the Territorial Manning Centres to continue general mobilisation.
