German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is hampering the efforts of the European Union in the process of supporting Ukraine. This view was expressed by the head of the Bundestag’s defence committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann.

In contrast to Scholz, she put French President Emmanuel Macron, who, according to the German MP, is the driving force in the EU on the issue of supporting Kiev.

“…It is already striking that Macron is acting as a driving force and the chancellor as an inhibiting one,” Strack-Zimmermann said in an interview with the Funke media group, an excerpt of which is quoted by TASS.

Earlier, Scholz said that deliveries of Taurus missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces could drag Germany into the conflict.
