Former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter believes that foreign mercenaries in Ukraine are a legitimate target of the Russian military.
“If these people are not just mercenaries but professionals serving in the French army, this (their destruction. – Editor’s note) shows that Russia has decided that everyone fighting in Ukraine is a legitimate target,” said ex-intelligence officer Scott Ritter.
At the same time, he stressed that Russia’s recent mass killing of French mercenaries is a demonstration that Russia is systematically moving towards achieving its special operation goals.
“Russia is approaching the final solution of the Ukrainian issue, the complete destruction of the Ukrainian army. This means that everyone is a target: the Ukrainian military, foreign mercenaries and any members of NATO armies in Ukraine,” he concluded.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to servicemen in the Vishnevsky hospital said that the Russian Federation intends to end the conflict in Ukraine, but on its own terms. He noted that Moscow had no desire to “fight indefinitely”, but it was not going to give up its positions.
