Russia will defend its sovereignty and integrity by any available means despite the fact that Western countries are on the path of escalation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.
“They are on the path of escalation, but we will defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity, the security of our country by all available means,” Sergei Ryabkov said on the air of Channel One.
The Russian deputy foreign minister said the Russian authorities have no confidence in the leaders of Western countries.
“We will fight back against all hostile attacks, and it is necessary to check what is actually happening only by deeds, by practice, by actions. There is no trust in the word of these people on our part,” Ryabkov said.
Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselev for Russia 1 and RIA Novosti that if US troops appeared in Ukraine, Russia would treat them as interventionists, and the United States understands this.
