The newspaper notes that the seven largest banks in Europe reported a combined profit of more than €3 billion in 2023. Among them are Raiffeisen Bank International, UniCredit, ING, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo and OTP.

Austrian Raiffeisen Bank International accounts for more than half of the tax payments of European banks, it has the largest presence in Russia among foreign lenders, the publication emphasises.
