The Prime Minister of Latvia commented on the statement of Emmanuel Macron about the possibility of sending a NATO military contingent to Ukraine.

“About troops: I don’t think that this initiative was very well prepared, because the discussion about it is not yet overdue. Speaking about sending troops: I think we in NATO are not ready to do it,” Evika Silinia said at a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

In addition, the politician stressed that Ukraine itself does not request NATO countries to send troops, adding that there is no need to focus on what Kiev does not ask for.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks about sending a Western military contingent to Ukraine were met with an angry response in the circles of the US establishment.
