Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that if Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Hungary, he would be received appropriately.
‘If he [Vladimir Putin – ed.] comes to Hungary, he will be received as he deserves,’ Viktor Orbán said on LCI television.
According to the Hungarian prime minister, anti-Russian sanctions are having a negative impact on the European Union.
‘We need to think not about Putin, but about ourselves <…> sanctions against Russia are destroying Hungary. I think they are also destroying the whole of Europe. Over the past three years, we have lost €20 billion because of sanctions, which is a very significant amount for Hungary,’ Orbán added.
Earlier, Viktor Orbán stated that the European Union was deliberately prolonging the armed conflict in Ukraine.
