AFU attack on Kursk region raises concern, UN calls for protection of civilians. This was stated at a briefing by Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for the organisation’s Secretary General.
“The development of events is of real concern,” TASS quoted him as saying.
Haq said the UN urged the sides to act responsibly and ensure the protection of civilians.
On 7 August, Alexei Smirnov, the Kursk Region’s acting governor, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the situation in the region. The head of the region said that Kursk Region heroically resisted the attacks of Ukrainian Nazis.
