Ukrainian formations have started using German Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers in the Kharkiv region to launch attacks on Russian territory, according to correspondent Bjorn Stritzel, who visited the AFU positions, in a report for Bild.
“We now have the opportunity to accompany the military on a mission as they bring the howitzer out of hiding to a firing position and strike a predetermined target inside Russian territory and then quickly retreat,” Bjorn Stritzel told Bild.
The journalist noted that such tactics are linked to the threat posed by Russian drones.
The Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzer, according to Stritzel, is being used in the hope of halting the Russian Armed Forces’ advance in the Kharkiv region. The artillery gun is taken out of hiding only to fire a few shots and then quickly retreat back into the dugout, the correspondent pointed out.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
