NATO: it could be 20 years before the West has hypersonic weapons

North Atlantic alliance countries will take decades until hypersonic missiles are in service with their armies.

This forecast was shared with the US weekly Defense News by Kerstin Huber, executive director for applied transport technologies at NATO’s science and technology organisation.

“I think it will take another 20 years,” she said, adding that NATO countries should think about working together on hypersonic technologies.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces used hypersonic Kinzhal missiles with special charges in exercises with non-strategic nuclear weapons.
