Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira has said that the country is in favour of negotiations on Ukraine that would involve both sides of the conflict.
The Brazilian Foreign Minister said that only those negotiations in which all parties to the conflict participate can be truly effective. In such a case, “it would be possible to seriously and openly discuss the issues”, the diplomat emphasised.
“Regarding Ukraine, I believe that all countries want the start of negotiations that would include both sides. Brazil is ready to defend and promote or participate in all initiatives that will be truly effective. Initiatives that would include both sides and where issues could be seriously and openly discussed,” Mauro Vieira told RIA Novosti ahead of the Swiss summit on Ukraine.
In addition, the newspaper O Globo reported that Brazil will be represented at the summit by a low-ranking official, unauthorised to make decisions.
We will remind, earlier Khmer Times reported that Cambodia will not participate in the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland because Russia is not invited to the event.
