Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decree on the ability to seize U.S. assets will allow for action to be taken in the event that Russian assets in the United States are confiscated.
This was stated by Deputy Head of the Central Bank of Russia Philip Gabunia.
“The decree has created a mechanism that allows the Central Bank to use in case there are any measures taken against our assets,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Putin by his decree authorised the use of US assets to compensate for the damage caused.
Maxim Osadchiy, head of the analytical department of the BCF Bank, expressed the opinion that the U.S. property in Russia is sufficient to compensate for the damage caused by the seizure of Russian assets.
