London will bring defence spending to 2.5% of gross domestic product as a response to global threats. This was announced by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
He said, speaking during a press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Warsaw, that it was time to announce the “biggest boost to the United Kingdom’s national defence in a generation”.
“We will increase defence spending to a new baseline of 2.5% of GDP by 2030. This starts today and will steadily grow every year,” TASS quoted the British prime minister as saying.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the UK was already building up its nuclear capabilities.
