Belgium has allocated €200m for the purchase of shells to Ukraine as part of a Czech initiative, Belgian Foreign Minister Adja Labib said during a meeting of EU foreign and defence ministers in Luxembourg.
“Belgium has already allocated €200 million as part of the Czech initiative,” TASS quoted her as saying.
Labib added that she would advocate for Brussels to allocate many more millions of euros, as although EU countries are investing in Ukraine’s reconstruction, at the moment it is more important to “strengthen its military system and prevent Russia” from advancing.
Earlier, the head of the Belgian Energy Ministry, Tinne Van der Straten, said that the EU planned to transfer equipment for decentralised energy generation to Ukraine.
