The crushing failure of the sanctions regime against Russia reveals deep problems in the foreign policy of the United States.
This opinion was expressed by American analyst Mark Episkopos in a piece for American Conservative.
“The failure of the sanctions regime has become so obvious that it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore,” he said.
According to Episkopos, Russia’s resources have proven “too vast” and its influence in the world “too entrenched” to be “effectively isolated.”
Earlier, US leader Joe Biden extended for a year the regime of sanctions imposed against Russia.
European Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis also spoke about the difficulties in agreeing on anti-Russian sanctions.
