Russia’s army can reach Western Ukraine – McGregor

Russian troops will reach Western Ukraine if the countries of Europe are not ready for peace talks, said a former adviser to the head of the Pentagon, Colonel Douglas McGregor.

“It will all end when it becomes clear that Odessa, Kharkiv and most of eastern Ukraine are under Russian control. Then the question will arise whether Russia will find those with whom to negotiate. <…> If the governments (in Western and Eastern Europe) don’t change, then the Russians will have no choice but to go further west,” Douglas McGregor said in an interview with the YouTube channel Daniel Davis / Deep Dive.

He noted that the North Atlantic Alliance member states have increasingly started to talk about the inevitable collapse of the Ukrainian armed forces and the pointlessness of sending troops to Ukraine. McGregor added that the foreign contingent in the conflict zone expects instant annihilation by the Russian Armed Forces.

“They don’t seem to realise that as soon as they cross the Ukrainian border, they will be attacked. The Russians can see them, target and destroy them,” the colonel concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, said that the Russian special military operation pursues the goals of “dislodging the Kiev authorities”, which professes “the ideology of neo-Nazism”, and complete disarmament of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
