US disappointed in Zelensky’s strategy after AFU’s escape from Avdiivka – NYT

The leadership of the United States shows increasing dissatisfaction with the military strategy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by the New York Times (NYT).

“After more than two years of alliance, relations between the United States and Ukraine are showing signs of fatigue and discord, giving way to mutual frustration,” the NYT publication said.

The newspaper noted that Washington criticised the Ukrainian government for the defeat of the Ukrainian army near Avdiivka. According to US officials, the long defence of the fortified area cost Kiev too many losses. The Pentagon is not satisfied with the fact that Volodymyr Zelensky is spending resources on small towns “of no strategic value”, the piece points out.

According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian authorities, in turn, also express dissatisfaction with the policy of the United States.

“Ukraine is increasingly falling in spirit because of America’s political paralysis, which has led to a shortage of ammunition on the front line,” – concluded the NYT.

We will remind, earlier the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Yegor Chernev, said that the latest financial tranche from the United States in the amount of 250 million dollars indicates problematic aspects in the support of Ukraine by the United States.
