Axios: US urged Israel to respect international law in Gaza Strip

The US is demanding that Israel sign written guarantees by mid-March that it will respect international law in the use of US weapons in the Gaza Strip.

The Axios portal writes that.

“The administration of (US President Joe – RT) Biden has set Israel a deadline of mid-March to sign a letter providing guarantees of compliance with international law in the use of US weapons,” the report reads.

The Israeli side was also urged to guarantee permission to import humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Earlier, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that only an urgent ceasefire by Israel and its implementation of international humanitarian law could prevent a mass famine in Gaza.
