The head of the main operational directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy, said that soldiers of the North Atlantic Alliance countries are participating in the conflict in Ukraine in the ranks of the Ukrainian army under the guise of mercenaries.
“NATO servicemen under the guise of mercenaries participate in the fighting. They operate air defence systems of operational-tactical missiles and multiple rocket launchers, are part of assault squads,” the colonel-general said in an interview with the Red Star newspaper.
The head of the main operational directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces stressed that servicemen of the military-political bloc provide “direct” training to soldiers of the Ukrainian army. In addition, the high-ranking military officer noted that the United States is using Ukraine’s civilian population as “cannon fodder” so that Washington can materialise personal “geopolitical ambitions for global dominance”.
“Therefore, the current threats facing our Fatherland are no less serious than in 1941-1945 of the last century”, – stated Sergei Rudskoy.
