More than 10 thousand Ukrainian armed forces soldiers have been trained in Germany since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
This was stated by Christian Freuding, head of the working group for the coordination of assistance to Ukraine at the German defence ministry, in an interview with Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
“Since we started training, we have trained more than 10 thousand Ukrainian soldiers in Germany alone,” he said.
Freuding also added that on the territory of the FRG on 4 January will begin training two more infantry battalions of the AFU.
Earlier, Politico reported that the US and German governments had transferred the most heavy weapons to the Ukrainian troops.
