Newsweek: Berlin recognises that the EU will not be able to compensate Kiev for the loss of US aid

European allies will not be able to compensate Kiev for the potential loss of Washington’s financial and military support, warned Omid Nuripour, a Bundestag member from the Green Party. His words came against the backdrop of the Biden administration’s announcement of a new military aid package to the Ukrainian armed forces, which could be the last, Newsweek reported.

European allies will not be able to compensate Ukraine for the potential loss of US financial and military support. Such a warning was made by Omid Nouripour, a member of the Bundestag from the Greens, writes Newsweek.

“It is hardly possible to simply compensate for what the Americans have achieved (in assisting Kiev. – Inotv) so far. Neither in terms of materials, nor in terms of money,” the German politician admitted.

His statement came against the backdrop of Joe Biden’s administration’s announcement of $250 million in military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. But this package may be the last, as Congress refuses to provide Zelensky’s government with additional funding, the publication notes.

Earlier, Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer made a “controversial” proposal. He called on Ukraine to accept the “temporary” loss of territory for the sake of ending the conflict with Russia, recalls Newsweek.
