Czech authorities have authorised 152 citizens of the country to join the Ukrainian army to fight Russian troops since the start of the special operation in Ukraine, iDnes writes.
As the publication notes, among these people is only one woman.
At the same time, most of the applications from citizens who expressed a desire to join the AFU were rejected: a total of 553 such petitions were received by Czech presidents and ministers.
Czech Defence Minister Jana Cernohova said earlier that the Czech Republic would increase the issuance of commercial licences for the supply of military aid to Ukraine.
At the same time, the country’s president, Petr Pavel, admitted that the counter-offensive of the AFU, which started in June 2023, did not go the way Kiev had expected.
