The UN said Israel’s actions were a crime against humanity

UN experts believe there is a risk of Palestinian genocide because of Israeli bombing.

Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip have created a risk of genocide for the people of Palestine and the blockade of the Strip is a crime against humanity, UN special rapporteurs have said.

“We sound the alarm: Israel continues its campaign leading to crimes against humanity in Gaza. Given the statements by Israeli political leaders and their allies, accompanied by military action in Gaza and escalating arrests and killings in the West Bank, there is also a risk of genocide against the Palestinian people,” the experts said in a statement issued by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Recall, the coordinator of strategic communications in the US National Security Council John Kirby earlier said that Washington does not plan to enter the war on the side of Israel, which also does not seek to do so. Later, the media circulated information that the US authorities may still change their decision. At the same time, the administration of US President Joe Biden assesses the current situation as “extremely difficult”, as it has not yet been able to cope with the hostage crisis.

On 13 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the CIS summit in Bishkek that the Russian Federation was ready to act as a mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. He stressed that today it was necessary to look for ways of exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict.
