Orban: Hungary-Russia relations have lost a lot because of the SMO and sanctions

Hungary-Russia relations have lost a lot because of the SMO and sanctions, but Budapest will try to “save everything it can”, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Because of the military operation and sanctions, our relations have unfortunately lost a lot. It has deeply affected the fabric of what you and I have built together….. We are trying to salvage what we can,” Orban said.

He noted Hungary’s interest in supporting co-operation with Russia not only at the level of communication, but also at the level of economy.

In turn, the Russian leader pointed out that the opportunities for maintaining contacts with many countries in the current geopolitical conditions are very limited.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Hungary would not agree with the EU sanctions against Russia’s nuclear sector.

Also, the Hungarian Foreign Minister said about the development of partnership with Russia in healthcare.
