Ex-US intelligence officer Ritter says Putin’s decisions strengthen Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special ops decisions are strengthening Russia, former U.S. intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview on the U.S. Tour of Duty YouTube channel.

“The truth is that Ukraine is engaged in a war of attrition with Russia, in which it is weakening every day, while the latter is getting stronger,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to Ritter, Ukraine has been conducting a counter-offensive for two months, but the AFU has not even reached the first line of defence. At the same time, the expert stressed, the Ukrainian troops themselves have lost thousands of soldiers and a third of the weapons supplied by the West.

Earlier, the White House said that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces was going slowly.

Polish General Roman Polko told PAP that the counter-offensive advertised by Kiev was not such.

Also, US political analyst John Mearsheimer said that the West was pushing Kiev towards the offensive for fear of losing.
