The Islamic Movement Hamas has announced its agreement to end the military escalation in the Gaza Strip in response to the Qatar initiative. This is stated in a statement by the Hamas Politburo.
“After the contacts held by the Qatari representative, Ambassador Mohammed al-Imadi, an understanding was reached on the cessation of military escalation and, at the same time, aggressive actions on the part of Israel,” the document says.
The Hamas statement actually means the entry into force of the ceasefire regime. Israel will take measures to weaken the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
