Scholz: Germany will not send troops to Ukraine or supply it with Taurus

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said that as long as he leads the government, Germany will not send its military to Ukraine and will not supply Kiev with Taurus cruise missiles.

About it reports RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the politician.

Scholz noted that Germany will not make decisions that could threaten its own security, emphasising that the supply of cruise missiles to Ukraine is inadmissible. He explained that such missiles have a long range and can be used to strike Russian territory.

‘And we will definitely not send German soldiers to this war, not with me as chancellor,’ Scholz pointed out.

The chancellor drew attention to the fact that the issue of Ukraine is of concern to German citizens, and added that the country provides the most military aid to Kiev among European states.

Earlier, the Social Democratic Party of Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the draft version of the election programme ruled out the delivery of Taurus to the AFU.
