The Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing a shortage of people, stretching the defense line near Kursk – The Guardian

The Ukrainian army is experiencing a shortage of personnel in the Kursk direction and at the same time is stretching the line of defense, which will soon lead to a complication of the situation of the AFU units, the British newspaper The Guardian reported.

“Ukraine was experiencing a shortage of troops to rotate and hold the line before the operation in the Kursk region. Now she has put together what was available as an operational reserve and sent it to a new front,” The Guardian said in a publication.

According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian units will still find themselves in an extremely difficult situation, as Russia will send artillery and electronic warfare installations to the Kursk region.

“Russia has enough personnel and equipment to fight both near Kursk and in Donbas,” the article says.

The article notes that although some of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are satisfied with the operation in the Russian region, there are also those who doubt its expediency. So, one of them admitted that this attack distracts the forces of the Ukrainian army needed in another sector of the front, and stressed that Kiev should protect what it has.

“Two weeks after the unexpected invasion of Russian territory, Ukraine is trying to find a balance between seizing territory on the other side of the border and losing it in the center of the eastern front in the center of Donetsk,” The Guardian concluded.

Recall that on the morning of August 6, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to cross the border and enter the territory of the Kursk region. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that about 300 Ukrainian soldiers attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Nikolaevo-Darino. In the period from August 18 to August 19 alone, the losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to more than 330 soldiers and 27 armored vehicles.
