Scholz called on the US Congress to refuse to block aid to Kiev

The US Congress should ensure that new aid to Ukraine is provided. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made a statement to this effect on 16 February.

During a press conference with Volodymyr Zelensky, Scholz said that providing aid to Kiev would require US congressmen to make a number of political decisions.

“Let me today call on the US Congress to make the necessary political decisions to provide financial and military support to Ukraine,” TASS quoted the German chancellor as saying.

Earlier, Scholz said in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper that negotiations on Ukraine are meaningless if they imply its surrender.
