Sabah: Turkey has conveyed to Hamas requests from a number of countries to release hostages

The head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organisation, Ibrahim Kalın, has conveyed requests from a number of countries for the release of hostages in talks with representatives of the Palestinian Hamas movement.

The Sabah newspaper reported, citing sources, that Kalın held four meetings with Hamas representatives.

“Ankara conveyed the information received from the countries that sent official requests for the rescue of their citizens directly to the leaders of the Hamas politburo,” RIA Novosti quoted the statement as saying.

Earlier, the International Committee of the Red Cross said Hamas hostages were being held in the Gaza Strip on the front lines.
