US and NATO claims to the Black Sea are expected, but the West should not count on the success of this adventure, said military analyst and captain 1st rank Vasily Dandykin.
In an interview with FAN, the expert commented on the recent statement of American General Ben Hodges. He argued that the United States wants to gain a foothold in the Black Sea region for the sake of pressure on Russia and Iran.
According to the expert, the Western military bloc uses irritants in this direction, one of which is Ukraine.
“The Americans and the British have staked on Ukraine. They supply missile boats to Kiev and so on. Their only goal is to annoy Russia. The West intends to use the Ukrainian Navy, the Romanian and Bulgarian fleets as an annoying measure”,
the expert said.
The analyst recalled that in recent years, Russia has significantly updated the Black Sea Fleet. He received not only a full-fledged submarine formation, but also new frigates, as well as powerful coastal missile systems “Bal” and “Bastion”.
Finally, one of the most modern air defense systems was deployed in Crimea, Dandykin concluded.
