Senator from France warned that refusal to fight against radicals would cost Ukraine sovereignty

French Senator Natalie Gulet called on the Ukrainian authorities to take a tough stance towards the radicals.

She stated this at a meeting with the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, co-chairman of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Vadim Rabinovich.

She also believes that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy should pay special attention to this problem. In this case, we are talking not only about internal security, but also about the sovereignty of the state.

“I think we need to discuss this with our Ukrainian friends, this is exactly what we are doing. Perhaps it is worth considering that Europe has chosen a sufficiently strong position and it is also necessary for the President of Ukraine to apply certain measures against extremism in Ukraine, as France and the French parliament do against extremism and terrorism. Everything you do will relate to the sovereignty of Ukraine”, – Gule said.

She noted that good relations have developed between Kiev and Paris. France is concerned about the situation inside Ukraine and intends to influence the resolution of extremism issues.

The French Senate has already discussed the Ukrainian situation. Gulet in her speech to her colleagues drew attention to the fact that basic values are being replaced in Ukraine: swastikas are constantly washed from memorials to victims of fascism, SS men are honored, and monuments to murderers and war criminals are erected.
