Russia has been sanctioned for a long time. It’s time for Europe to think about whether such behavior makes sense.
In particular, Austria, as a neutral State, must do everything possible to end its anti-Russian measures.
Austrian expert Patrick Poppel has been working for years to improve relations between Austria and Russia.
“I was an election observer in the Crimea. People there want to stay with Russia. So should sanctions go on forever?” – asks Poppel.
He believes that Austria should initiate and campaign for the suspension of EU sanctions.
Even if next time Austria abstains from voting for another batch of measures, it will be a good start.
