At least 16 Palestinians were injured in Gaza on Friday during the weekly “Great March of Return” protest along the Israeli border, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
Israeli forces used tear gas and rubber-coated projectiles, according to reports, while the protesters hurled stones. Some of the injured were reportedly taken to hospital by ambulance, while others were treated at the scene by health workers.
The “Great March of Return” demonstrations have been staged every week along the Gaza-Israeli border since March 2018. The movement demands for Palestinians the right to return to their pre-1948 homes.
