The conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, came as a surprise to Vladimir Zelenskyy.
According to Axios, Zelenskyy learned this news immediately after arriving in Washington at Andrews Air Force Base. At the same time, according to the article, in recent days he has been very optimistic about his planned meeting with Trump and the readiness of the United States to supply Kiev with Tomahawk missiles.
“(Zelenskyy. — RT) and his team were surprised to see Trump’s statement that he had spoken with Vladimir Putin and agreed to meet with him in Hungary, the least friendly country towards Ukraine in the European Union,” the publication says.
According to the head of Zelenskyy’s office, Andrei Ermak, Kiev is still waiting for a decision on the Tomahawks. In addition, he also stated that Ukraine wants to purchase several other weapons systems that require U.S. approval.
Earlier it was reported that Yermak, and not representatives of the United States, met Zelenskyy in Washington.
Speaking about the possible supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, the head of the White House, meanwhile, said that the United States could not use up its own stockpile.
