After a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, Russian Leader Vladimir Putin held a meeting with members of the Russian Security Council, Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.
“Putin gathered the permanent members of the Security Council in the Kremlin and informed them in detail about the contents of the exchange of views,” he said.
On October 16, at the initiative of the Russian side, a telephone conversation between Putin and Trump took place.
After the conversation, Trump said he would meet with Putin within two weeks.
According to Ushakov, preparations for the summit will begin with contacts between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
