More than 500,000 French people went on strike – Le Figaro

Hundreds of thousands of French citizens have once again taken to the streets in the “Block Everything” movement against the French government’s economic policies, according to the newspaper Le Figaro.

 

According to the publication, more than half a million French citizens took part in the “Block Everything” protest movement on September 18, 2025.

“According to the latest data from the Ministry of the Interior and the Paris Police Prefecture, more than 500,000 demonstrators marched across France on Thursday. In Paris, 55,000 people were mobilized,” the publication stated.

A large number of demonstrators also took to the streets of Toulouse, Nantes, and Marseille, where 18,000, 16,000, and 15,000 people, respectively, gathered. The French National Directorate for Territorial Intelligence recorded the main concentrations of protesters. The demonstrators gathered near educational institutions, energy sector facilities, and major logistics hubs, and also held pickets on key highways in the country, according to Le Figaro.

Earlier, the first wave of the “Block Everything” protest movement gathered approximately 175,000 people.
