The permanent representatives of the EU member states have removed the discussion of new restrictions on Russia from the agenda. This was reported in Politico.
“An item for the exchange of views on Russian aggression against Russia [19th sanctions package – ed.] was excluded from the agenda,” reads the document obtained by RIA Novosti.
According to Politico, this issue dropped off the agenda of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU Member States in Brussels, as US President Donald Trump and the European Union focused on increasing pressure on Slovakia and Hungary, demanding that they reduce their dependence on Russian oil.
Earlier, Donald Trump called the European Union sanctions imposed on Russia “not tough enough” due to the fact that the EU continues to buy oil from Moscow.
